Every target below is drawn to exact physical dimensions and free to download — no email, no account. Where a target belongs to a shooting organisation or a company that sells it, we link you straight to them rather than reproducing their work.

⚠ Print at 100% — or the target is worthless

Angular targets only mean anything at true scale. In your print dialog choose Actual Size or 100%, and turn off “Fit to Page” and “Shrink oversized pages” — those silently shrink the sheet by 5–10%. Every Apex sheet carries a 1 inch and 100 mm calibration bar: measure it before you shoot. Download the PDF and print from a PDF reader, not from the browser preview.

Zero, tracking and scope verification

These validate the numbers your ballistic solver produces. A scope that tracks 4% short, dialled to 10 mils at 1000 yards, puts you roughly 14 inches low — and a 2% error hides inside group dispersion forever unless you test for it. Do this work before you true a ballistic solution, or a turret fault gets absorbed into a physics variable and reappears at every other distance.

Every sheet carries both MOA and mil values. Angular units are ratios, so what a printed target is worth depends entirely on how far away it hangs — 10 mils moves your reticle 3 inches at 25 feet and 36 inches at 100 yards. Rather than make you do that in your head at the bench, each target states its design distance and prints the adjustment in both units.

Reticle Cant Protractor

In almost every riflescope the reticle is not perfectly plumb to the turrets. Aim at the vertex, dial up, and watch whether the reticle climbs the line or drifts off it. Works at any hang distance — the sheet tells you exactly how much to dial in both MOA and mils, from 25 feet out to 100 yards. Plus a table of what each degree of cant costs you at 300, 500 and 1000 yards.

A two-inch circle, a six-inch circle and a two-inch circle. From the holster: one round up top, three in the middle, one at the bottom — the name is the shot sequence by target size. It trains changing gears, because most shooters run the whole string at one tempo and drop rounds on the small circles. Drill by the late Todd Louis Green.

Pistol Diagnosis Target

Aim at the centre bull and the wheel around it names the grip or trigger fault that usually sends a group that direction — heeling, thumbing, too little trigger finger, breaking the wrist. Sized for 7 to 10 yards, laid out for a right-handed shooter (mirror left and right if you shoot southpaw).

Load development

The OCW sheet prints landscape — on portrait paper the ten targets sat close enough that their reference rings overlapped, and that point-of-impact shift between charges is the method, so the sheet gets the room it needs.

The ladder test and OCW are different methods at different distances, and they get conflated constantly. A ladder is one target, single shots, 300 yards minimum — it depends on vertical resolution and simply fails at 100. OCW is separate co-aligned targets, three shots each, fired round robin at 100 yards, and you read the movement of the group centre rather than group size.

Why some targets aren’t here

Competition target faces belong to the organisations that run those sports, and several are registered trademarks or products that companies sell to fund their work. We’re not going to reproduce them and undercut the people who created them.

So we do the next most useful thing: we send you straight to the source. Buying official targets from the governing body is also the only way to be certain the scoring zones are correct for a match.
